The 2nd Animal Welfare Conference Indonesia, International Conference 2023 was officially held, on December 7 2023 in Bogor. This event is fully supported by FOUR PAWS International and collaborates with the Directorate of Veterinary Public Health, Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Agriculture Service of West Java Province, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Syiah Kuala University, Hasanuddin University Veterinary Medicine Study Program, School of Medicine IPB University Animal and Biomedical Sciences, Executive Board of the Indonesian Veterinary Association, West Java II Indonesian Veterinary Association, Semarang City Agriculture Service, Bogor City Government, Bogor City Food Security & Agriculture Service, and ANIMONDA.
In addition, the following official partners are supporting this event: Rainbow Sanctuary, Dr. B The Vet Show, Animals Don’t Speak Human Foundation, Sheva Buana Foundation, BUBU+, Indonesian Animal Protection Coalition, Natha Satwa Nusantara Foundation, Association of Indonesian Small Animal Practitioner Veterinarians, Dog Meat Free Indonesia, and Indonesian Shelter Veterinary Association. Additionally, 400 people registered for the event both offline and online, and 27 national and international speakers provided assistance.
A Memorandum of Agreement was also signed at this international conference by the JAAN Domestic Foundation, the faculties of veterinary medicine at Udayana University and Syiah Kuala University.
This MOA seeks to enhance academic and student instruction in the areas of shelter medicine and animal welfare. During the signing ceremony, the Deputy Dean 1 of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Udayana University, Dr. drh. I Gusti Ngurah Suvisma, M.Sc., and representatives from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Syiah Kuala University, including the Dean, Dr. Teuku Reza Ferasyi, M.Sc., Ph.D., represented the JAAN Domestic Foundation.
Together with hopefully having a long-lasting beneficial influence and supporting efforts to preserve animals, this partnership may help develop creative approaches and solutions that may be more broadly applied for education in the fields of animal welfare and shelter medicine.
