Animal’s Level and Response to Traumatic Events

Not only humans, but animals also can experience traumatic events in their life. On a certain level, animals can cope with this. But on a higher level, these traumatic events can cause disturbance to their lives, and can make them scared of meeting people and loud noises for a long period of time.

ON LEVEL 1

Where animals are learning to handle the fear itself. It only occurs when triggered, and they can still handle it.

Example: Dogs being afraid going to basement for the first time

ON LEVEL 2

Animals still learning to face their fear where there are more than one triggers. But dogs can still handle them although it will need a certain amount of time.
Example: Dogs Meeting with new people and new environment

ON LEVEL 3

Extremely scared (phobia) causing disturbance in their normal activity, like socializing and their favorite activitie

Example: Dogs that are left outside alone or chained, then there is lightning This can make them astraphobic
(fear of thunder and lightning).

ON LEVEL 4

Extremely high levels of fear, usually happen from more than one phobias. Causing disturbances in several aspects of their lives.
Example: Dogs being scared of all loud noises due to their phobia of lightning
