Concerning Protected Types of Plants and Animals
Attempted Violation :
The stipulation of these animals’ status as protected animals is based on:
– Their population number is too small
– There is a sharp decline of total individuals in nature
– Low level of growth, due to their habitat or ecosystem effects
– Limited endemic area
Criminal Threats
Law of RI Number 5 Year 1990 concerning Conservation of living natural resources and their ecosystem
Article 21 verse (2) letter a
“Everyone is prohibited from: catch, injure, kill, keep, possess, maintain, transport and trade protected animals in a state”
Article 40 verse (2)
“Whoever deliberately violates the provisions as referred to in Article 21 paragraph (1) and paragraph (2) as well as Article 33 paragraph (3) shall be punished with imprisonment of 5 (five) years and a maximum fine a lot of IDR 100,000,000.00 (one hundred million rupiah)”
