JAAN Domestic Foundation Successfully Holds 2nd Animal Welfare Conference
JAAN Domestic Foundation, fully supports by Four Paws International, held The Animal Welfare Conference – Indonesia, International Conference for the second time in 2023

The said conference was held hybrid in IPB International Convention Center on the 7th of December 2023.
The 2nd AWI International Conference 2023 presented 27 Speakers, 7 Moderators and 3 Masters of Ceremony, with more than 400 online and offline participants altogether.
The Conference opened by several Keynote Speakers such as Mrs. Karin Franken as the CEO and Founder of the JAAN Domestic Foundation, Dr. Natasha Lee, M.Sc., Ph.D as the chairperson of WSAVA Animal Wellness and Welfare Committee (AWWC), Drh. Teuku Reza Ferasyi, M.Sc., Ph.D. as the Dean of the Veterinary Medicine Faculty of Syiah Kuala University, Dr. Drh. Dwi Kesuma Sari, ApVet as the Head of the Veterinary Medicine Study Program at Hasanuddin University, and Drh. Indriantari, the Food Security Service
Secretary.
In Her speech, Dr. Natasha Lee, M.Sc., DVM kindly commendate the 2nd AWI International Conference 2023.
There was a lot of material presented by national and international speakers.
By half time of The Conference, there were two classes made available for the participants to join online and offline, both have different topics presented and discussed. While Class A focused on the Animal Welfare Policy & Strategy, Class B focused on Shelter, Community & Non-Profit Organization Management.
Mrs. Menik, one of the Offline participants who owns a shelter in Jakarta was very enthusiast in joining the Conference, for She can upgrade Her knowledge and widen Her relation with colleagues with common interest in Animal Welfare. Mrs. Menik is one of the many participants that requested the Conference to be continuously held in the future.
The Conference was held for the second time after the first on 2022. As a dedication of the JAAN Domestic Foundation which have been fully concentrated for 15 years on establishing Animal Welfare for animals such as cats, dogs, horses and as well livestock animals.
One of the milestones on Animal Welfare history of Indonesia was recorded on the Conference, which is the signing of the MoA (Memorandum of Agreement) between the JAAN Domestic Foundation and Udayana University, Bali and Syiah Kuala University, Aceh. The MoA focused on the cooperation in Animal Welfare and Medical Shelter Education.
The Conference as well collaborated with several institutions and agencies, which are, the Bogor City Government, the Directorate of Veterinary Public Health from the Ministry of Agriculture, the West Java Province Food Security and Livestock Service, the Semarang City Agriculture Service, the Executive Board of the Indonesian Veterinary Doctors Association, the Bogor Agricultural Institute, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Syiah Kuala University, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Udayana University, the Veterinary Study Program Hasanuddin University, Indonesian Animal Protection Coalition, and other collaborators and Official Partners.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all stakeholders who really supported in holding the Conference.
Surely it is not only the participants who are waiting for the Conference to be held continuously but also the Speakers and the Collaborators that are as well anticipate the Conference to be held again next year.
With the spirit of “Dedicated To Improve Animal Welfare All Across Indonesia”, the big and wide spread family of JAAN Domestic Foundation is more than ready to meet everyone on the next Animal Welfare Conference – Indonesia.
