Keep Your Pets Safe on New Year’s Eve

Every New Year’s Eve, many pets become frightened by the loud noises of fireworks. Some even escape and are difficult to find again. To prevent this, here are some tips to keep your pets safe:

1. Make Sure Windows and Doors Are Close

Always keep your pets indoors. Ensure that all doors and windows are securely closed so they cannot escape. Double-check for any gaps or exit routes that you might not be aware of.

2. Take a Walk Before the Night

Take some time to give your dog a long walk in the afternoon. If possible, provide them with plenty of physical activity throughout the day. Tired pets tend to be calmer and more relaxed when the night arrives.

3. Use Music to Calm Them

Play soothing music to mask the sound of fireworks from outside. This can help your pet feel more comfortable.

4. Create a Safe Space

Create a safe space for your pet, such as a crate or box covered with towels or blankets. This will give them a sense of security and a place to hide.

Remember, keeping your pet safe on New Year’s Eve is your responsibility as an owner. Make sure they cannot escape and make them as comfortable as possible.

Happy New Year!
