Cemong’s Story: From Stray Cat to Part of the Family

Cemong is a calico-patterned female cat that is not a typical house cat. She entered the house without permission and hid in the garage under the car’s hood. We were concerned that she may become stuck inside the engine compartment or, worse, be struck by the radiator fan because she was sheltering there. We initially made several attempts to push her away. Within the next one to three days, She always goes back to the same location, receiving strong fragrances such as coffee, pandan leaves, and carbolic acid in addition to being doused with water. Actually, despite our dog’s constant barking, She does not fear it.

We eventually came to love one another. Cemong often helps repel mice that roam around the car garage. Rats often enter the garage, even climbing into the hood of the car and biting several parts of the cables. After Cemong arrived, mice were rarely seen roaming around the garage. At first, we only often gave her drinks and dry food in front of the house. Her persistence in chasing away mice made us feel like she deserved a place in our house.

One day, a nearby veterinary facility offered a free spay and vaccination campaign. We made the most of the chance to invite Cemong. Cemong was found approximately three to four months old, based on the veterinarian’s findings. Following her inspection, she was deemed healthy enough for sterilisation and immunisation following a period of recuperation. Cemong was
vaccinated and sterilised before she was formally welcomed into our family.

At home, Cemong is not the only pet. We have a dog named Brandy as well. At first, Brandy thought Cemong was a threat. However, they grew close friends over time.

Cemong has unique habits. Every time a spoon hit her feeding bowl, she would return home. In the daylight, she likes to hang out near fences and garages. She would go inside the home and sleep in a carton of mineral water as it became dark. But when her supper arrived later than expected, she started acting strangely—pulling out rolled tissues and crawling on the stove and plate rack, for example.

To show our love, we opened the kitchen window just for Cemong, allowing her unrestricted access. The “horrifying” “gifts” that the Cemong frequently presented us were birds and lizards, many of which were dead.

The adoption tale of Cemong demonstrates that we don’t need to purchase pets. A loving home is necessary for a lot of abandoned animals. We are happy that Cemong entered our life and that he has grown to be a valued member of our family.

Tips :

1. Be prepared to take care of the needs and well-being of the animal if you decide to adopt an abandoned pet.

2. Schedule routine checkups and immunisations for your pet with the veterinarian. You can benefit from free sterilisation or vaccination programmes offered by the public or private sectors.

3. Show affection and care to your pet

Closing :

The story of Cemong shows how a stray cat can find love and a home in a caring family. Don’t think twice about adopting an abandoned animal if you have the chance. You’ll make a devoted buddy who will enrich your life with joy.

Remember: Don’t shop, adopt!

ANIMAL WELFARE PERSPECTIVE FROM ASIA TO THE WEST

ANIMAL WELFARE PERSPECTIVE FROM ASIA TO THE WEST

Animal rights and welfare have long been integrated with animal issues. The ideas of animal rights and animal welfare came into being mostly via the efforts of Western nations. A paradigm shift was initiated, at least in the 19th century, by Jeremy Bentham and John Stuart Mill, who contended that while animals are rational and do not have thoughts, they are relevantly similar to humans since they have feelings

The Cassava Farm Boy Now Has a “Furever Loving Home”. His face was pitiful, and his eyes were full of sadness. The brownish-white puppy was standing next to the wall of a dull house in a cassava plantation area in Karadenan, Bogor Regency. Every day, he observes people walking on the path in front of the garden. When a motor vehicle passed by,
he immediately ran away to hide in the bushes. When night fell, he could only huddle behind the wall in the dark and had to resist the invasion of mosquitoes in the garden.
I don’t know who would have the heart to throw that innocent little soul into a cassava garden.

One Health, One Welfare

One Health, One Welfare

Two significant movements that support one another are One Health and One Welfare. The objectives of both movements are the same:
to enhance human welfare by acknowledging the connection that already exists between people, animals, and the environment.
Because of their interdependence and connectivity, humans, animals, and the environment are intertwined.

HOW TO TRAVELING WITH YOUR PET

HOW TO TRAVELING WITH YOUR PET

As a pet owner it is always a dream to travel with our pet wherever we go.To travel overseas
or just domestic ,far or near is always a risk to the animal. Not every pet has the means to travel, interact with people, or see new places. As pet owners, it is our responsibility to be aware of anything that could worry our animals before, during, or after a trip. If your pet is the really shy type and gets anxious easily in new situations, you may need to consider leaving them at home. Being well-prepared is essential for a happy trip with your dogs.
